It’s Monday… No one likes Monday. Let’s talk about our fun weekends instead, shall we? I’ll start.
Yesterday, I went on a Sunday Funday adventure with my boyfriend to visit the Daft Punk pop up shop in West Hollywood… As one would imagine, it was pretty epic.
Inside is part store, part musical museum.
There are old props, wardrobe and set pieces, and robot helmets. Instruments. Artwork. An amazing photography archive that showcases Daft Punk’s legendary career and contributions to the music industry, plus tons of snapshots from their performances over the years.
They had a solid amount of merch available, but it was all ridiculously expensive, very space-y, and avant garde. They worked with some cool designers and creatives on some of the pop up pieces, but $450+ for a t-shirt is kind of absurd. JUST kind of.
We had to wait in line for over 2 hours, but it was worth it to see and experience all of the history for ourselves. Standing in line obviously made us really hungry, so afterwards we went out to dinner on Melrose, which happened to be miraculously close to a House of Intuition! I’ve only been to their Echo Park location, so NATURALLY I *had* to go look around the store, and of course I picked up some new crystals. I have a bad habit of doing that – but it’s a bad habit that makes me feel good, so can it really be THAT bad? I’ll share pics and more info about them later this week.
For a virtual tour of the space, watch this video they posted right before it opened:
