My favorite music festival, Lightning in A Bottle, is nearly here…
Taking place May 25-30 (aka Memorial Day Weekend) in Bradley, CA, Lightning In A Bottle is a music, arts, and yoga festival. It’s unique as a “music festival” because there’s SO much more than that – you can take yoga classes, watch live painting and check out art installations, attend various workshops/panels, speakers, and performances…
See what’s going on this year at the Village for workshops, and the Lucent Temple of Consciousness for speakers, workshops, performances, and yoga. One thing that I’m super excited for is the ESSENTIAL OIL LEARNING LAB!!!
To get an idea of the festival from the perspective of someone who’s been there and done that, scroll through my LiB 2015 Photo Diary. Lightning In A Bottle is truly a musical, magical wonderland – and can we talk about this year’s STELLAR LINEUP?!
The lineup sells itself – grab your ticket before they’re gone. I’m super hyped for the music this year… Notables for me for the big names are: Chet Faker, Jamie xx, Moderat, Lee Burridge, Monkey Safari, Lane 8, AHHH TOO MANY! The music this year will be top notch, you guys. Let me highlight my faves by stage.
- LIGHTNING: Chet Faker, Jamie xx, Moderat, Grimes, Elderbrook, Big Gigantic, Lucent Dossier Experience (their performance is pretty fucking cool – so is the Earth Harp), Alina Baraz.
- THUNDER: To be completely honest, I’m not so into bass music but I will definitely be checking out The Polish Ambassador, Mr. Carmack, Tokimonsta, PANTyRAiD (v excited about this one actually), Autograf, Thriftworks, Bleep Bloop, Cashmere Cat, and Mija.
- WOOGIE, AKA HOME: My favorite stage at LiB and possibly my favorite place on earth. 100% excited about the entire bill for the Woogie this year – Four Tet, Guy Gerber, Josh Wink, Magda, andhim, Lee Burridge, &ME, Monkey Safari, Shall Ocin, Lane 8, Francesca Lombardo, Justin Jay, Jonas Rathsman, Sacha Robotti, and everyone else.
Last year, I opened up and wrote about why Lightning in A Bottle is my favorite festival and how it changed my life. I had the honor of attending LiB as press in 2015 and getting to film, shoot, and cover the festival was an amazing experience – one I hope to participate in again this year.
The photos in this post are from my favorite day at the festival last year and probably one of my favorite days in life so far. My friend and I got these dancing wings which made you feel something like a fairy or a butterfly – so much fun to twirl around in.
We dropped them off once it got dark when we changed into warmer clothes, then went back to the music… You will always find me doing the boogie at Woogie. It was there that John Digweed played my favorite set to close out an incredible weekend – and I don’t think I’ve had a better day since.
Should history repeat itself… This will be another exceptional year with really amazing people and music, plus a variety of cool workshops, talks, and performances that will change your world. If you’re looking for a new music festival experience or a potentially transformational Memorial Day this year, come with me to Lightning in A Bottle.
If you’ve already got your ticket (!!!) then I’m super excited to boogie at the Woogie with you next month. If not, grab one before they’re gone – they sold out last year and are over halfway there now. PS: If this is your first year attending, LiB has posted a first timer’s guide on their blog! I. CANNOT. WAIT. Is it May yet? Namaste.
xx
