This weekend is one of my favorites in Seattle because it’s Decibel Festival. For the last three years, one of my oldest best friends, Kira and I have attended and danced each night away. Every year has been an amazing experience, thanks to the top notch curation and slew of cool venues that house the festival throughout the city.
Claptone at Q playing the House to Haus showcase on Wednesday.
We’ve seen Dixon, Carl Craig spin off two tables, Lorde (videos), Archie Pelago, Aeroplane, KiNK (video), The Martinez Brothers, Cajmere, Green Velvet and more… Âme was definitely the highlight of my #dB2013. I discovered this gem from his set at Q last year earlier in the week… we might be a little white girl wasted but it’s fine. Meet the dB crew: Kira, Avery and David.
We are sadly missing David this year but Kira and Avery are both back in town. Last night we caught Simian Mobile Disco at EMP’S Sky Church, here’s a peek into their set.
Tonight is loaded – we’ll be at EMP for Richie Hawtin & Friends as well as the Hot Creations showcase: Lee Foss, Anabel Englund, Shadow Child and Patrick Topping… Over at Q: my homies Sean Majors and Ben Garrison will be gracing the decks, and later KiNK will be back to play an after hours set.
We’ll finish the festival tomorrow at the All Gone Pete Tong showcase: Pete Tong, Tensnake and Isis Graham. I could potentially get talked into the Lane 8/Anjunadeep boat party tomorrow afternoon too. My life is hard. Just keep dancing, just keep dancing…
xx
